Kayla's Foods that she will miss the most

So here is a list of non-healthy foods that I will miss eating, since I am cutting these things out of my life at least until I can learn to eat smaller portions and make healthier decisions.

Soda: I love love love Pepsi and Sprite, but these are full of sugar and upset my stomach so bye bye

Pizza: I love cheesy pepperoni pizza and not just one slice, so for now its got to go

Ice cream: My all time favorite is Ben and Jerry's Phish food ice cream, lots of sugar and calories so it too must go

Candy/Junk food: Convenient and sugary foods must go in order for me to learn how to eat healthier. So I must say goodbye to ring pops, brownies, handi-snacks, pizza pockets, pizza snacks, and candy in general.

Starting January 1, I am completely 100% ready to change my life by eating healthier and exercising. I am buying some exercise equipment and also completely emptying out my food cupboard and fridge and replacing everything with healthy healthy food!

Kayla's First Entry 12/18/2009

My name is Kayla Willhite, and I am a fourth year college student. I am a psychology major and gender studies minor. I have been overweight since I was little, and never really learned how to eat the right way. I have family medical issues that deal with being obese, and I do not want to get them. I am starting out at 245, and would ultimately like to be down to 150 by this time next year.

I have never had a lot of self confidence and this is because I have always been chubby. I am tired of feeling like the fat elephant in the room and tired of fearing that people are judging me because of my weight. It is my time now to become healthy and to not fear/think that when someone is talking about someone being obese that they are talking about ME! I am ready and it starts now!

My biggest problems are that I eat too much, not enough vegetables and don't exercise to burn the calories. I love soda and fast food. I spend almost 100 plus on eating out every month, so not only is this journey going to make me slim but also slighter richer. Being a college student, it is hard to find time to exercise and make home cooked meals; but that time can't be an excuse anymore.

Here is what I am going to do to change my ways:
1. No more fast food, eating out, drinking soda or eating junk food
2. Eat chicken, fish, rice, whole grains (in moderation), fruits and VEGGIES!
3. Eat in smaller portions
4. Exercise 30 minutes a day, at least 4 times a week
5. Have a positive attitude and adapt small goals to reach!

We have decided to start fresh on January first, therefore we can get through the holidays without feeling guilty. So come January first, it is cracking down time!
