Week One for Gabby

Well, it wasn’t as bad as a week as I thought it would be. It was the first week of school, so I kept really busy, along with my work schedule.

The hardest thing for me this week was saying no to all the good looking food at work.

What I do when I first walk in, is I take it and either give it to the next house or throw it away. They leave food/deserts for NOC shift, and I don’t want to eat most everything they serve, but I don’t want it to sit there and stare at me in the face either. The other day I hid cherry chunk cake in the cupboard because there was five pieces sitting out on the counter when I got there, and I know me, if I let my guard down I would have eaten all five pieces and those two peanut butter cookies. Which were soft, I poked them before I hid them from myself. I made it, I made it a week at work without eating because I was bored or because the food was there.

I worked some of the morning shift and there was Belgium Waffles with Strawberries, and it took everything in me to not have those.

This week was full of just random craving and feelings. Out of everything I could be craving all I want is pizza. I never liked pizza really, but for some reason that is all I want. It is so bad, I was watching King of the Hill and they were eating pizza, and all of a sudden my mouth started watering. FOR CARTOON PIZZA! Wow, so just a few more days I am sure and my pizza craving will be gone. Otherwise, just energy drinks and Starbucks are the two things I want the most.

Without those things, the first three days SUCKED. I had a migraine and carried Ibuprofen in my purse for the whole week. But the headache only lasted two days, I even went to the gym with the migraine. Now, I do seem to have a lot more energy. We will see how I do in school and on tests, to really see that through. I have been sleeping a lot this week, but I hope that will change soon. I am half way through the hardest 14 days, and I haven’t messed up. If I did mess up, just pick up and keep going. But I don’t see myself cheating for a long while. Not when I am already noticing changes.

My mom and I went shopping at Fred Meyer and Trader Joe’s. I felt good about everything we were getting. Our fridge looks better then ever!

I have gone ALL week without eating CHEESE! I MISS CHEESE! But I know it is not good for me, though everytime I see it...my mouth just waters. But I really think my attitude is getting better a long with my engery.

The first time I hear someone say ‘Wow Gabby, you look good, have you lost weight?” is when I know my hard work is paying off. I can’t wait to start seeing the physical changes that my body goes through. It will be a journey.

I have been watching TV shows and movies to help me through this too. One EVERYONE should watch is Processed People. Thanks to my mom, I was able to see that. Also, the show One BIG Happy Family is a great one too. I know some people watch Biggest Loser, which is awesome. I don’t watch that show but I think other should defiantly check it out.

  1. Gabby, I am so proud of you for being able to turn down those sweets. That has to be hard...tell you the truth I probably would be able to so kudos for you :) Congrats on working out, I am trying to this year but mine sucks compared to you. One thing I told Kayla, so I will tell you too.....bananas, apparently if you eat bananas right before you workout it's good for your body. I have never tried it, but it shouldn't hurt your body cause its healthy right?!?!?!
